Sports Awards Evening

The annual Sports Awards Evening is on Wednesday 2 November (6.30pm start in the Lingo Lin Theatre) is the moment that summarises the 2016 sporting year. Students who were MVPs and premiership winning teams will be presented with trophies and pennants respectively. Students who have competed at state and national level competitions in school and club competitions will also be recognised. There are a number of other major awards that will also be presented, listed below:

• Fifteeners Award – presented to Year 12 students who participated in a TAS trimester sport every season from Years 8-12.
• Redback Spirit Award – presented to the male and female Year 12 student who were selected and participated in the most Redback teams.
• Most Improved Team of the Year
• Champion Team Award
• Most Improved Sport of the Year
• Most Successful Sport of the Year
• Coach of the Year
• Outstanding Sporting Achievement Award
• Sportsman of the Year
• Sportswoman of the Year

For some of the awards, particularly outstanding achievements in club sport, students are asked to submit a nomination to be considered for an award. Students are asked to download the appropriate form below and submit to me by via (j.pincott@ormistoncollege.com.au) by Thursday 13 October for the following awards:

• Sportsman of the Year
• Sportswoman of the Year
• Outstanding Club Sporting Achievement

The Sports Awards Evening will feature a number of visual presentations to the backing of live music presented by OC students. Olympic javelin thrower, Joshua Robinson, will be the special guest and provide insight into resilience in sport, the Olympic experience and balancing the demands of an elite athlete and life.

All families and supporters are welcome to attend the Sports Awards Evening. More details about who receives awards will be made available shortly.
