The OC netball girls had a successful round against Canterbury coming away with six wins and five losses. The Firsts and Seconds girls came away with narrow losses, especially the Seconds who only lost by two points. The girls fought hard narrowing the score margin down from 10 to two in the second half. All the girls really dug deep and put in a lot of effort with great defence creating many turnovers that were turned into goals.
The Thirds took away a win, along with the Year 10A, Year 10B, Year 9A, Year 9B and Year 7A teams. The Year 7Bs also worked hard to finish on top in what was a nail-biting game. The girls forged ahead early, but lost momentum to lose the lead. Self-belief and sticking to the game plan forced errors from Canterbury and Sophie Sherrin sealed victory with the winning goal in the last minute. The Year 8Bs continuously strived to win, but unfortunately were defeated by Canterbury 35-7. During the first quarter, it was head to head as both teams were drawing. However in the next quarter, the fell behind as their oppositions defence began to pick up. MVP was awarded to Lara Drvodelic, but all girls should be commended on their efforts.
